Overview

If you’d prefer to follow written steps, or want a quick reference:

Learners, tutors, and admins will have access to checkpoint data at varying levels of programme, cohort and individual Learner to review and assess progress.

Access

These detailed reports will be available to any admin user type with checkpoint roles and permissions. Tutors can access checkpoint reports of learners they are directly associated with only. This ensures strict confidentiality and data integrity.

Note that when tutors with the 'Tutor Console - View All in Assigned Group(s)' role assigned are accessing the checkpoint reporting pages they can view reporting data for all checkpoint learners visible to them through grouping structures defined. This will mean they do not have to be the learners' case owners to view this data.

Reporting screens

Programme summary

On the Programme summary page, administrators/tutors can view a programme-level summary of checkpoint activity for programmes they are associated with. This is limited by the “View all Learners in groups“ role.

This makes it easy for administrators/tutors to understand progress across the whole programme potentially indicating where improvements to curriculums could be made.

Learner summary

On the Learner summary page, administrators/tutors can view all the checkpoint data for a particular learner. This makes it easy for administrators/tutors to understand individual learner progress with the details required to aid learners.

Viewing checkpoints across your caseload

Tutors can now see outstanding and completed checkpoints across their whole caseload in one place, rather than checking programme by programme.

  1. Navigate to the checkpoint area.

  2. Select the caseload view.

  3. Toggle between a programmes view and a learners view.

  4. Select a learner's checkpoint to go straight to it.

Completed checkpoints from the last 28 days are shown alongside outstanding ones. If you need to cover for a colleague, you can widen the view from your own caseload to all learners you have access to.

Use Clear filters to reset your filter selections, including the All learners toggle, back to your own caseload.

Checkpoint data through OData

Checkpoint results, including scores, outcomes, and completion data, are now available through the OData v2 reporting feed. This lets you build your own reporting without exporting manually. For reference, see the OData dictionary.

The feed also includes LearnerId, the integer learner identifier used elsewhere in Aptem, alongside the existing LearnerUniqueId, making it simpler to join Checkpoint data to your other reporting tables without a further lookup. LearnerId is populated from 10 September 2026; continue to use LearnerUniqueId where you need an identifier present on every row.
