Overview
The Components Overdue card highlights Learning Plan components that have passed their due date. It helps tutors quickly identify items that require action for the selected learner.
Visibility
The card appears only when the selected learner has one or more overdue components.
If no overdue components exist, the card is not shown in the Requires Attention panel.
The card may be visible to different tutors depending on their relationship to the learner (see rules below).
How the overdue count is calculated
A component is counted as overdue when:
The Complete By date is today or earlier, and
The component is not yet completed
The following types of components are included in the tutor count:
Qualification components
Miscellaneous components
Components that are not visible to the learner
Which components are counted depends on the tutor’s role in relation to the learner:
Primary Tutor (Case Owner)
If the tutor is the Primary Tutor,
➡️ All overdue components for the learner are counted.
Secondary Tutor (Component Owner)
If the tutor is not the case owner but is the component owner:
➡️ Only overdue components owned by that tutor are counted.
This means the card may not appear for a Secondary Tutor, even though it appears for the Primary Tutor or other tutors viewing the same learner.
View-All-in-Assigned-Groups Tutor
If the tutor is neither:
a case owner nor
a component owner
➡️ All overdue components for the learner are counted.
Navigating from the card
When a tutor selects the Components Overdue card:
➡️ They are taken to the learner’s Learning Plan, automatically filtered to show Overdue components.
Why the dashboard count may differ from the learning plan overdue filter
You may see different counts between:
the Components Overdue card, and
the Overdue quick filter in the learning plan.
This is expected because:
The learning plan overdue quick filter:
excludes Qualification components
excludes Miscellaneous or Review components that are hidden from the learner
The learning plan’s overdue filter does not adjust based on tutor–learner relationship,
while the Dashboard card does.
Terminology
Depending on tenant configuration, this card may be labelled Activities Overdue instead of Components Overdue if terminology has been customised in the Terminology token.
