Overview
This feature/article is applicable to the DWP Restart programme only.
Milestones enable you to track and evidence that a participant has either achieved the salary thresholds for being in employment, or the time thresholds for being self-employed.
Note that Milestones are not visible to the participant.
Case 1: In case of direct employment
There are two milestones on the Restart programme for participants who move into direct employment.
- Milestone one= Achieve a particular earning threshold, for example £1000.
- Milestone two= Achieve another earning threshold, for example £3000.
The earning threshold amounts can be configured when you create the job outcome tracker.
Projected achievement date for participants in employment
A participant who has moved into employment with an employer will have two milestones generated for them once the 'job outcome tracker' has been created. Each milestone will have a projected achievement date.
The projected achievement date for each of the milestones is calculated as follows:
Projected milestone achievement date = Employment start date + number of hours worked per week × hourly rate of pay.
Manage DWP Restart Employed milestones
To manage and update a milestone for a participant, you will need to have access to Aptem classic. Milestones will be automatically generated once you have created a job outcome tracker for a participant on programme.
For information, see the following articles:
- Configuring the Job outcome tracker: Click this link to learn more about configuring milestones for the job outcome tracker.
- Create a Job outcome tracker: Creation of a tracker generates the self-employment milestone. You can now create job outcome trackers in console.
- Updating a job outcome tracker with an end date: When a participant switches from one job to another, you can edit the tracker and update the projected dates of the participant's financial milestones.
- For milestones that are generated, you can View / Edit the milestones.
Case 2: In case of Self-Employment
There is one milestone on the Restart programme for participants who move into self-employment
- Milestone one= evidence of self-employment for a period of 26 weeks
Projected achievement date for self-employed participants
A participant who has moved into self-employment will have a different milestone calculation as self-employment is measured in time as opposed to earnings.
The Projected self-employed milestone date is calculated as follows:
Projected self-employed milestone date = Self-employment start date + 26 weeks
