The Learning Plan tracks the progress of your learner against their programme and its components. The Learning Plan contains all the activities, digital learning assets, meetings, and webinars that the learner needs to complete.
The Learning Plan page provides an overview of the programme.
Your learners can use their Learning Plan to access learning activities and to submit evidence for marking. The learning plan view for a tutor is similar to what the learner sees, but as a tutor you have some additional options.
All progress is tracked through activities. Each activity is displayed in the timeline. When you select a Learning Plan item, you will see a description of the contents of this section on a panel that appears on the right of your screen. This panel can be closed or expanded by using the relevant icons on the top right of the panel.
Each activity has a status. You will see the following statuses used for the activities:
- Not Started
- In Progress
- Evidence Required
- Evidence Submitted
The progress bar titled Target Progress is a quick indicator showing how much of the learning plan has been completed compared to what is currently due for completion.
Learning plan dropdown
Using the dropdown menu at the top of the learning plan page, you can switch the view to look at the progress of any of the individual programme components.
In the default view, which is the Learning Plan, the overall programme is selected.
If the learning plan activities are pre-mapped to standards and qualifications, you can view learner progress against these by selecting the component from the list.
You can also view the associated evidence and how it has been mapped to specific criteria.
Manage learning plan
Most activities are set up at a programme level. As a tutor, you can add/edit/delete activities for individual learners (where you have been given the permission to do so by your organisation). For example as a tutor, you may need to schedule meetings and reviews.
The activities are ordered by due date, and are displayed in a timeline. Overdue activities show at the top. Activities with ‘No due date’ are displayed at the bottom.
To filter specific activities in the learning plan, you can use the quick filters. On the pane above the activity list, click Quick Filters. The following filters are available:
- Activities Overdue
- Requires Marking
- Feedback Received
- Secondary Tutor Responsibility
- Supported by other Tutor
- Ready for QA
To use more filtering options, click Filters on the pane above the activity list.
The Edit Filters panel opens on the right of your screen. You can filter by status, type and date. While applying the filter, you can select multiple statuses and types.
Preview digital learning
You can preview any digital learning activity on a learner's learning plan. This allows you to review the questions/assessment/eLearning that they need to complete,
Click Preview on an activity within the learning plan to preview the content.
If you have the Internal Verifier role assigned to your account, you can carry out the QA planning process using the console. For more information, see: Quality Assurance.
If an activity has an evidence attached, you can view the status of the evidence.
Once uploaded the learning plan page will automatically update to show the uploaded, albeit un-marked, evidence.
The case owner for the user will automatically receive a notification via the messaging centre and email that the user has submitted evidence against their learning plan.
Once submitted, the learer view of the learning plan will show the status ‘Evidence submitted’ for that learning activity. The evidence will have a status of 'Requires Marking'. The status will be automatically updated once the evidence has been accepted or referred by the tutor.
