Aptem Assess - learner view

Starting the Aptem Assess assessment via the dashboard

After admin manually registers the learner for an assessment by clicking 'Register learners', the learner will then be able to navigate to the assessment via the received notification.

They will be directed to the onboarding wizard if:

  • Onboarding is mandatory
  • Onboarding is incomplete
  • The assessment step is configured and enabled in the Onboarding Wizard of learner's programme

Otherwise, the learner will be directed to the dashboard and the assessment will open, to be completed.

Additionally, the learner can access the assessment and be notified that it requires completion through the requires attention card on their dashboard, under the same conditions in terms of navigation as the notification:

The assessment is completed as expected and in both cases the onboarding has been completed with the assessment configured there, or the user has clicked the notification raised for them to address in the dashboard.

 

Starting the Aptem Assess assessment via the onboarding wizard

Learners who enrolled on a programme which has Aptem Assess configured are able to view the assessment step in their onboarding wizard.

  • Learners can start it by clicking on the 'Start Assessment' button.

  • Clicking the Start button will take learner to the introduction page.

  • Click on Continue will Navigate to Assessment Overview screen.

  • If the learner clicks View Instruction, the 'Instructions' page of the current testlet is displayed.

 

The assessment

The Aptem Assess assessment consists of 8 testlets.

  1. Symbols
  2. Similar Words
  3. Number Recall
  4. Picture Completion
  5. Fake Words
  6. Missing Numbers
  7. Object
  8. Shapes and Colours

 

Notes

  • Each testlet has a diagnostic and longer version.
  • The learner will first view the diagnostic version of the first testlet. If the learner is able to achieve MinPassScore within the MaxAnswerTime provided in the config file, then the learner will be taken to the next testlet's diagnostic version.
  • If the learner is unable to achieve MinPassScore within the MaxAnswerTime provided in the config file, then the learner will be taken to the longer version of same testlet.
  • If the learner refreshes /closes the assessment in between, they need to re-start the assessment.
  • When the learner completes the assessment, the Start Assessment button gets disabled.
