Overview
Aptem’s AI-supported marking tool enhances the assessment experience by streamlining submission, marking, feedback, and evidence management - all integrated in the Learning Plan. With a human-in-the-loop approach, it helps to drive accuracy and efficiency, freeing up tutors’ time and allowing them to focus on personalised guidance that supports learner progress.
- Administrators can configure Learning Plan components to utilise marking aid and feedback assistant functionality at the programme level. They can also link marking aid exercise to ad-hoc components in Console at the level of an individual learner without affecting other learners. They can set up rubrics and feedback groups; and manage exercise content efficiently. They can also conduct quality assurance reviews of tutor feedback, helping to maintain high standards and consistency across assessments.
- Learners can submit exercises through the Aptem interface, record off-the-job hours, and view detailed tutor feedback, including marks; grading levels; and in-line comments. Their completed exercises, along with the tutor feedback can also be automatically stored as evidence in their portfolio, ensuring a complete and transparent learner record.
- Tutors can review submissions, provide contextual feedback, apply rubrics, and deliver structured assessments that support learner progress. For more information, see Marking exercises within marking aid.
Marking aid is fully aligned with Aptem’s existing workflows and evidence standards, including criteria mapping, acceptance/referral processes, quality assurance, portfolio management, and program-level control over how components are configured for new learners - ensuring transparency, fairness, and efficiency throughout the assessment journey.
