Users usage tile

Overview

This article describes the Users usage tile as visible to a standard administrator. For more information, see Standard administrator – detailed description.

The Users usage tile opens the Usage report page, which summarises learner activity across a selected time range:

  • Logging in to the application
  • Using Job Finder
  • Managing tasks
  • Visiting the Advice Centre
  • Managing CVs

Filtering

Select Search to apply filters. Select Reset to return to the default view.

The page contains five expandable sections:

  • User logins
  • Users who clicked at least one job link
  • Users who created or updated at least one task
  • Users who read at least one advice item
  • Users who created or updated at least one CV

Each section displays a chart, a line graph, and a detailed grid.

The following filters are available:

Filter Control type Default Description
From Date picker Today minus 29 days Start of the reporting period.
To Date picker Today End of the reporting period.
Group Multi-select tree view dropdown Select groups Filter by learner group allocation. Only groups the logged-in administrator has access to are listed.
User name or email Free text Blank Filter the chart and detailed report by learner full name or email address.

User logins

The User logins report shows the average number of learners logging in to the system across the selected time range, and the total number of learners who logged in on each day. This section is expanded by default when you navigate to the Usage report.

Select Show complete list to expand the detailed grid below the chart. Once expanded, this option is replaced by Hide list.

The X per day counter shows the average number of learners logging in per day over the selected period (total logins divided by the number of days selected).

The Up or Down icon shows whether the average has increased or decreased compared to the same-length period immediately before the selected start date.

Chart

The User logins chart shows learner login statistics as two bar charts:

  • Logged in – the number of learners who logged in at least once during the selected period.
  • Not used – the number of learners who did not log in during the selected period.

Selecting either bar expands the detailed grid below.

  • The dark blue line shows the number of learners who logged in at least once on each day.
  • The green dashed line shows the average number of learner logins per day over the selected period (one event per learner per day, divided by the number of days selected).

Selecting a plot point expands the detailed grid. Hovering over a point shows the date and number of learners it relates to.

Grid

When expanded, the grid shows details of learners who logged in to Aptem during the selected period. Sorted by Number of actions (descending) by default. Displays 10 records per page; use the pager to navigate.

The grid header displays:

  • "X users were logged in [period start] – [period end]" where X is the total number of learners who logged in at least once during the selected period.
  • If the Not used bar was selected: "X users were not logged in [period start] – [period end]".
  • An Export to CSV link to download the current grid data.
  • A pager control to adjust the number of rows displayed.

User Yes (A–Z) Link to the learner's user profile page (opens in same tab) Learner or jobseeker full name (first name and last name).
Email Yes (A–Z) String Learner or jobseeker email address.
Group No String Learner or jobseeker's Aptem groups (comma-separated if multiple).
Number of actions Yes (numerical) Integer Total number of login events. Empty if the Not used bar was selected.
Subscription Yes String Learner or jobseeker's current subscription status.
Date Yes (numerical) DateTime (dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm) Timestamp of the learner's most recent login. Empty if the Not used bar was selected.

Users who clicked at least one job link

Note: Visible only if the Jobs token is enabled in the account programme.

This report shows the average number of learners who visited an external job listing from Job Finder (via the View job and apply option) during the selected period, and the total number who did so on each day.

Select Show complete list to expand the detailed grid. Once expanded, this option is replaced by Hide list.

The X per day counter shows the average number of learners who clicked at least one job link per day over the selected period.

The Up or Down icon shows whether the average has increased or decreased compared to the equivalent prior period.

Chart

The chart shows Job Finder usage as two bar charts:

  • Accessed job link – the number of learners who followed at least one job link from Job Finder during the selected period.
  • No job link accessed – the number of learners who did not click any job links during the selected period.

Grid

Users who created or updated at least one task

This report shows the average number of learners who created or updated tasks during the selected period, and the total number who did so on each day.

Use the Task type dropdown to filter the report to a specific task type.

Select Show complete list to expand the detailed grid. Once expanded, this is replaced by Hide list.

The X per day counter shows the average number of learners who created or updated a task per day over the selected period. The Up or Down icon shows the change compared to the equivalent prior period.

The chart shows task activity as two bar charts:

  • Accessed task – the number of learners who created or updated at least one task during the selected period.
  • No task accessed – the number of learners who did not create or update any tasks during the selected period.

Users who read at least one advice item

This report shows the average number of learners who visited at least one Advice Centre article during the selected period, and the total number who did so on each day.

The X per day counter shows the average number of learners who visited at least one Advice Centre article per day over the selected period. The Up or Down icon shows the change compared to the equivalent prior period.

The chart shows Advice Centre usage as two bar charts:

  • Accessed advice – the number of learners who visited at least one Advice Centre article during the selected period.
  • No advice accessed – the number of learners who did not visit the Advice Centre during the selected period.

This report shows the average number of learners who created or updated at least one CV during the selected period, and the total number who did so on each day.
