Set up a automatic trigger

To set up an automatic checkpoint, you must have the ‘Manage Tenant Settings’ role and either the ‘Supervisor’ or ‘Checkpoint Tutor’ roles.

From the main menu, go to Settings > General. Under Checkpoint Settings, enable the Automatic Trigger option.

When active, learners will automatically receive a checkpoint after completing each learning plan component (LPC) that has mapped KSBs - either via curriculum design or tutor-assigned evidence mapping.

    • Scenario questions per KSB – 1 to 3 (must be >0)

Click Save Changes to activate the checkpoint for learners in the selected programmes who have checkpoint enabled.

Notes

  1. Checkpoints will not be created retrospectively for learning plan components completed previously to these settings being saved. checkpoints will only be triggered for future completed learning plan components on these programmes.
  2. On the reporting pages, learners, tutors and administrators will see a label that differentiates between a theory question and a scenario question.

Edit an automatic trigger configuration

Once a automatic configuration has been created, it is listed in a table as shown below with its checkpoint configuration. Click the Edit (pencil) icon next to a configuration.

  • Update any of the fields as needed:

    • Name, Programmes, Checkpoint Expiry

    • Theory/Scenario Questions per KSB (1–3)

    • Checkpoint Expiry, Delay Triggering by

  • Click Save Changes to apply updates to all affected learners.

Delete automatic checkpoint settings

To remove an existing setting, you can delete the automatic checkpoint once it has been created. Use the delete icon on the far-right to delete the checkpoint.

Any checkpoints previously triggered with these settings will remain available within the learners and reporting screens. These settings being removed will therefore prevent any future checkpoints from being triggered.
