Enabling checkpoint

Administrators with the 'Manage Tenant Settings' or 'Supervisor' permission can navigate to Settings > General and configure checkpoint settings.

Administrator roles and permissions

‘Supervisor’

Supervisors can:

  • Configure checkpoints across programmes.
  • Manage checkpoint-related permissions for other admins and learners.

‘Checkpoint Tutor’

Checkpoint managers can assign the Checkpoint Tutor role to tutor-level admins, allowing them to:

  • Manually create checkpoints for assigned learners.

  • View checkpoint data related to their associated standards, programmes, and learners.

To assign the ‘Checkpoint Tutor’, go to the 'Users' tile, find a tutor and click on the Edit (pencil) icon on the far-right in the corresponding rowq1.png

  1. Use the arrows to assign the ‘Checkpoint Tutor’ role, then click 'Update'.

  4. Click Update to save changes

Grant checkpoint access to all learners on a programme

Administrators can now manage checkpoint permissions at the programme level using the checkpoint token.

When enabled, permissions are automatically applied to all existing and new learners. Disabling it will revoke permissions for all learners, except those with manually assigned permissions. These changes affect only the programme’s specific delivery type.

Notes

  • Learners without this role will not be able to use any checkpoint functionality.
  • Only learners can take a checkpoint.
  • Checkpoints can only be assigned to learners who have access to Aptem Console.
  • Employer users won't have access to view any results pertaining to a learner's checkpoints.
