Adding context for the virtual assistant

You can now tell the virtual assistant a little about your organisation, so its answers reflect how you actually work, rather than a generic response. Context can be added at three levels: for your whole organisation, for individual programmes, and for individual employers.

Adding organisation context

Organisation context applies across your whole tenant, whatever programme or employer a learner is on.

  1. Navigate to your tenant settings.

  2. Select the virtual assistant context option.

  3. Enter up to 2,000 characters of plain text describing your organisation, such as your terminology, policies, or key contacts.

  4. Select Save.

Changes can take up to 10 minutes to reach live conversations with the virtual assistant.

Adding programme context

Programme context lets you describe what makes a specific programme distinct, alongside your organisation context. A programme can only belong to one context group.

  1. Navigate to the virtual assistant context area.

  2. Select Add programme context.

  3. Name the context group and enter up to 2,000 characters of plain text.

  4. Select one or more delivery programmes to apply this context to.

  5. Select Save.

Adding employer context

Employer context lets you describe what learners at a particular employer need to know, such as how that employer operates or its workplace policies, alongside your organisation and programme context. Only active employer records are available; an employer can only belong to one context group.

  1. Navigate to the virtual assistant context area.

  2. Select Add employer context.

  3. Name the context group and enter up to 2,000 characters of plain text.

  4. Select one or more employers to apply this context to.

  5. Select Save.
