Overview
This guide will provide you with an explanation for each activity type and how they can be used to efficiently deliver learning for your learners.
Qualification activity type
This activity type is used to populate the Commitment Statement with Learning Plan activities that are being delivered by a third-party. The organisation can be selected from the list of 'Training' organisations that you have created in Aptem.
Please note, this activity type is NOT visible to Learners in Console.
This activity type can also be used to provide direct access to bksb resources. Please note that if your bksb API is enabled, your learners will be directed to the bksb site to complete the selected resource. The selections available are dictated by your bksb licence.
Online training - External activity type
This activity is used to manage online learning and/or online workbooks/exercises. For example, learners need to read, listen, or watch learning material and/or need to answer questions to evidence learning.

Offline Learning (Placement /Workshop) activity type
This activity type is used when the provider organisation or subcontractor delivers face-to-face learning. This activity is used if you want to record time spent attending this training and will not complete if these hours are not collected (Off-The-Job Hours). All the enrolled learners will need to attend the session. Once the learning is completed, the administrator will verify attendance.

Assignment (task) activity type
This activity is used when learners must write an assignment. The task is to set a due date and it will create a diary entry.

Meeting activity type
This activity is used when there is a meeting to be arranged.

Scheduled online event activity type

Miscellaneous activity type
This activity type is typically used if the administrator or tutor wishes to record evidence and does not want to use any of the existing types. The learner will not be able see this activity.

Review activity type
This activity is used to schedule and record review sessions. Tutors can complete the review either with the learner or make this available when finished to be signed by the learner, and their Manager.
Please note the review forms need to be configured before setting up this activity type, either at programme level or when creating the activity in a learning plan.

Digital Learning activity type

End- point assessment activity type
This activity is used to indicate when the end-point assessment will take place, and any preparation that is required.

FS Initial Assessment activity type
This activity type is generally used for indicating the result of the Functional Skills Initial Assessment. Where the integration for either BKSB or Skills Forward is utilised this will serve as a placeholder for the results being automatically populated upon completion of the assessments. Where the integration is not being used, the results can be manually uploaded as evidence.

FS Diagnostic / Revision activity type
This activity type is generally used for indicating the result of the Functional Skills Diagnostic Assessment. Where the integration for either BKSB or Skills Forward is utilised, this will serve as a placeholder for the results being automatically populated upon completion of the diagnostic assessment. Please note that in order for the results to be automatically returned, the learner must access BKSB/Skills Forward via this learning plan activity link. Where the integration is not being used, the results can be manually uploaded as evidence.
