Overview

The PLR (Personal Learning Record) is the permanent, authoritative online record of a learner's qualifications and achievements. It records general and vocational qualifications including A levels, GCSEs, BTEC, Diplomas, and Functional Skills.

With a PLR, learners no longer need to provide copies of individual certificates to training providers and employers. They can instead share a report generated directly from their PLR.

Enabling the PLR at programme level

  1. Sign in to your administrator account.
  2. Select the Programmes tile and open the programme you want to edit.
  3. Scroll down to locate the PLR token.
PLR token in the programme builder
  4. Select the PLR token. Your UKPRN (UK Provider Reference Number) and LRS organisation password should be displayed.

Adding the PLR to the onboarding wizard

Once PLR is activated in your account, you can enable it in the onboarding wizard steps. Learners can then enter their personal learning records in the PLR section of their onboarding wizard. See Completing your PLR for guidance.

Viewing the PLR

Once learners have completed the PLR in their onboarding, you can view it within a review.

After Aptem is integrated with the LRS (Learning Records Service), you can search for a learner's PLR using their ULN (Unique Learner Number) or personal details. See Review panel – PLR for guidance.
