Planned updates to the PowerBI Funding Dashboard
Overview
With these updates, we aim to improve the user experience and value of data provided within the Funding Dashboard Report.
Planned updates
We are making the following changes over the coming months:
- Extending the reporting period filters - Funding Dashboard
- Merging funding detail reporting tabs
- Merging funding summary and Learner funding tables
- Merging pop out errors into existing tabs
- Merging the provider weighting tab with the funding headline reporting tabs
Extending the reporting period filters - Funding Dashboard
Dates to be confirmed
Where date filters exist on a Funding Dashboard reporting tab, we will update these options to provide customers with the ability to report on the funding data within those reporting tabs by historical, current, and future academic years.
Users will be able to select one option at a time from the following:
- Current academic year
- The past 5 academic years (if data exists within Aptem)
- Future academic years (if data exists within Aptem)
Merging funding detail reporting tabs
Available from Monday 19th August
Currently, there are four separate funding detail reporting tabs for different funding categories:
- Funding Detail - Standards
- Funding Detail - Frameworks
- Funding Detail - Traineeships
- Funding Detail - AEB and Study Progs
These will be merged into one tab, so that all currently supported funding category data will be available within one reporting tab. This will allow Users to combine the data to get an overall view of their organisational data where applicable. Users will still have the ability to filter on the different categories to view the data separately.

Merging the Learner Funding Data and Funding Summary tabs
Available from Monday 19th August
We will merge the Learner Funding Data and Funding Summary reporting tabs and provide detailed data for selected metrics.
Currently, the metrics and the graph on both these tabs do not provide the relevant Learner data, they only provide the headline data. The table on the Learning Funding table provides a list of the Learners with additional information, but it does not easily help with the metrics.
We will merge these tabs and add the ability for the User to select each metric and graph. The table will reflect which Learners are being reported in the metric they have selected. This will considerably reduce the time a User currently spends trying to find the Learners being reported by these valuable metrics.
Example - Users can select the ‘Potential outcome payments for Learners past planned end date’ key performance indicator value of the right-hand side to give details of which Learners are contributing to this value. This functionality exists for all key performance indicators on this page. Selecting these values also alters the Learners displayed within the ‘Learners, Aims, Status and Funding Table at the bottom of this page.

Merging of Missing Learning Aims, Provider Weighting and Errors.
Available from Monday 19th August
The following existing tabs will be merged into one tab named 'Missing Aims, Weighting and Errors'.

- Learning Aims
This is to reduce the number of tabs on the dashboard and aid a seamless experience of using the funding dashboard.
