January 2021 (Release 1)

Making Aptem reviews even better

In this release, we are excited to announce that learners can now access their reviews in a web-based format rather than in a PDF document. This makes a review easier to read on mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets. We have also added additional functionality to the custom section of a review to make it easier to capture information.

In early 2021, we will be making it possible for both learners and employers to contribute to reviews in advance of the review.

Reviews for learners

Learners can now view a list of planned and completed reviews to track their progress. In case of completed reviews, learners can also view the detailed review within the platform. This feature makes the reviews more accessible and easier to navigate.

Updates to custom forms

Structure your questions with subheadings and descriptions

To help learners understand and complete custom form information, you can structure your forms within reviews by adding subheadings. You can also add a text description below a sub heading to provide a descriptive introduction to that part of the form.

For more information see: Add subheadings to a custom section of a review

Mark questions as mandatory or optional

You don't always need every field within a custom form to be completed. Using the review settings, you can now mark fields as either mandatory or optional. This setting is available for all fields on a custom form.

For more information see: Setting fields as optional/required within a custom section of a review

Conditionally show and hide questions

Sometimes you want to ask additional questions in a review if the tutor, learner, or employer responds to an earlier question in a particular way. To make this possible we've now added that capability just like in the custom form of an onboarding wizard.

For more information see: Conditionally show and hide questions

Ensure you capture information in the correct format

We've added the ability to capture information matching a particular format. So, you can now ask for a user to enter an email, phone number, or address and make sure they enter it in the correct format.

For more information see:

Password complexity

We've now increased the password complexity required when registering or changing a password. From now on, any system users registering or changing their existing password must ensure that the new password:

  • Be a minimum of 10 characters in length
  • Contain a mix of letters and numbers
  • Contain a mix of uppercase and lower case letters
  • Contain at least 1 special character

Existing system users and their passwords will not be affected until a password reset is required.

Minor improvements / bug fixes

The following minor improvements and bug fixes have been made in this release:

  • We've removed the link to export users via CSV from the Users tile. You can still extract this data from Users Generic Reports
  • We've added a new role called "Manage calendars" which allows you to provide an administrator with the ability to view and manage other administrator calendars.
