Skills Radar Overview

Overview

Within each programme, multiple competencies can be added to measure the learner’s current level of skill(s) and progress against the KSBs.

The purpose of the Skills Radar is to capture the learners’ competency level and progression throughout the programme of delivery.

Using the Skills Radar, learners can self-assess themselves against competency characteristics, this can then be used to prompt a conversation with the tutor who will also assess the level the learner is at. The tutor's assessment and the employer's assessment are completed through the review process.

The Skills Radar is visible to the learner, the tutor, and the employer. The assessment completed is date stamped, and it can and should be repeated during the programme delivery.

If the Skills Radar has been made mandatory for an employer, the employer will be required to score all competencies when completing the Skills Radar assessment of a learner for the first time.

Setting up Employers to view/edit the Skills Radar

Where an Employer has only the "Can view" option enabled against the Skills Radar section of a Learner review, they can see the Skills Radar, but cannot score the competencies.

Where the Employer has the "Can edit" option enabled for an employer against the Skills Radar section of a Learner review, they can edit the score against the competencies, add notes, and upload evidence.

When Employers see the Skills Radar section of a Learner review, they can also see the Learner's and Tutor's score against each competency, where they have been scored.

Skills Radar can be made mandatory for an Employer login

Tutors can set the Skills Radar to be fully completed by an employer, so that they can see how the line manager rates the learner's competencies. If the Skills Radar has been made mandatory for an employer, the Employer will be required to mark a score against each criteria before they can save and close the review.

If the Skills Radar has been made mandatory for an employer, the employer will be required to score all competencies when completing the Skills Radar assessment of a learner for the first time.
