Checkpoint - Automatic creation

Overview

To set up an automatic Checkpoint, you must have the ‘Manage Tenant Settings’ role and either the ‘Supervisor' or 'Checkpoint Tutor’ roles.

Use the main menu on the left to navigate to Settings > General. Under the Checkpoint settings, you will have the following option to enable Automatic Triggering. When enabled, Learners will see a Checkpoint surfaced to them after the completion of every learning plan component with mapped KSBs. This mapping could be pre-mapped to their component within curriculum design or the evidence mapping that is assigned to the component by the Tutors when completing the components.

  • Specify a Name for the Programme Set. A programme set is the ability to select multiple programmes that share the same variables for triggering a Checkpoint, you can have multiple sets so that customisation is given extensively.
  • Choose the programmes for this Programme Set. Programmes can only be included within one programme set. The drop-down list of available programmes only shows programmes not currently added to a programme set. The programmes field can be used to remove programmes from programme sets.

    • Set how many theory-based questions should appear per KSB. This value must be more than 0, and can be a maximum of 3.

Notes

  1. Checkpoints will not be created retrospectively for learning plan components completed previously to these settings being saved. Checkpoints will only be triggered for future completed learning plan components on these programmes.
  2. On the reporting pages, learners, tutors and administrators will see a label that differentiates between a theory question and a scenario question.

Delete Automatic Checkpoint Settings

To remove an existing setting, you can delete the Automatic Checkpoint once it has been created. Use the delete icon on the far-right to delete the checkpoint.

Any Checkpoints previously triggered with these settings will remain available within the learners and reporting screens. These settings being removed will therefore prevent any future Checkpoints from being triggered.
