Aptem Assess enhancements

Aptem Product Owner Rachael Stewart reviewed and showcased recent enhancements made within Aptem. Assess following customer feedback. She was joined by David Lockhart-Hawkins, who presented the latest funding rules and requirements for identifying additional learning support (ALS) needs.

The session covered:

  • How Aptem Assess works, including how it can be triggered during a learner's programme.
  • Quality score functionality that assesses learner answering patterns and engagement during the Aptem Assess cognitive assessments.
  • The phased introduction of the richer depth of reporting against near-threshold learners who may need further review to determine exact ALS needs.
  • OData points that are available now and coming soon.
  • Development of additional learning support resources, accessible via the Resource Centre, that can be used to modify a learner’s learning plan.
  • Q&A

Who is this session for?

This session is suitable for those who are considering Aptem Assess as well as existing users.

Q and A transcript

The following is a transcript of the questions asked during the webinar, along with the answers provided by product experts. For any further information, do contact your Implementation Consultant, Customer Success Manager or Aptem Support.

How long is the assessment time?

It does depend on whether the learner indicates a match during the assessment. During testing, we have seen it completed in 10-15 mins where no match is made. If a match is indicated, we ask further questions to establish the level of match, so this can increase the time of assessment and varies depending on the section.

Can these features just be turned on why do we have to speak to our account manager ?

As these features are optional and may not be required by all customers, we have allowed different parts of the system to be enabled/disabled depending on how they wish to use the system, allowing for better configuration of your own tenancy. Once they are on, they will remain on for you.

Can a learning support plan be added to the compliance documents so that they can be signed as part of the initial signing of documents at the start?

You can add as many compliance documents as you require. Though we do not have a template for this in Aptem. Please discuss with your CSM if required.

If we add compliance documents would the system ask the learner and employer to sign, for example like it does with the training plan?

Aptem cannot ask for signatures unless they are templated. You can only upload documents, pre-signed outside of Aptem.

Does Aptem Assess need enabling in the programme to allow people to be added individually?

Aptem Assess will need to be enabled in the programme to allow people on that programme to be added, yes, but not all programmes need to have it enabled.

Can Aptem build in a standard review of learning support effectiveness that covers ESFA requirements so that it could be reported on in UGR or OData?

We would be interested in learning about your needs and requirements for this. Please raise this with your CSM for discussion and if needed, they can pass this onto the product team for future investigation.
